Namebe Soul has released his awe-inspiring Souvenirs EP, which suitably highlights his talents as a lyricist.
The concise 7-track project is an insightful journey into the mind of the emcee hailing from Leicester, whose nostalgia-inducing beat selection (crafted by the likes of Knxwledge, Young Taylor and Scott Xylo, among others) provides a soulfulness that makes his moniker very appropriate.
Namebe himself describes wanting the project “to sound like what a child from Kunte Kinte and Maya Angelou, also raised with the help of your not so average black woman (my mum) would sound like if he rapped”, which has the potential to be very impactful.
